One of the easiest ways to make transition planning less stressful is to organize important records before they are urgently needed. Families do not need every document on this list. Use it as a master checklist and keep the records relevant to your young adult.

Guardianship is not required. It is only one possible decision-making option, and families should learn about the alternatives before deciding anything.
